An Empty Nester event:
Join friends to explore the sweeter side of winter! Empty Nesters will go on a guided tour of the maple sugaring house and hike through the sugarbush. Help collect sap and see the steaming evaporator boil down “liquid gold” to maple syrup. Afterwards, hit the trails of the Cincinnati Nature Center to explore other beautiful areas of this city gem.
Tickets are limited so register early!
Note: The sugarbush hike and tour will be from 1:00-2:00 PM. Afterwards, Empty Nest hike leaders Dawn Paugh and Lew Ebstein will lead a 2 mile hike from 2:00-3:00 PM. The hike features trails that will be gravel, dirt, concrete and steps. It is considered moderate with some incline and can be muddy after a heavy rain.
Parking is free. Ticket includes daily admission to the Nature Center so feel free to stay and enjoy other parts of the property. Note that the grounds close at 5:30 PM. This event will be almost entirely outdoors. In an abundance of caution, tours will be given in multiple groups of 12 or less. Masks are required to be worn in the sugar house so please bring one with you. Masks are not required outside on the hike.
