Urban & Nature Hiking Series

Join us for an exciting series of Sunday afternoon hikes as we explore some of Cincinnati’s hidden gems and scenic trails. Each hike concludes with an optional social gathering at a nearby spot.

Hike #1: OTR Steps and Alleys
Date: Sunday, January 26th
Time: 3:00 – 5:00 PM

Discover the charm of Over-the-Rhine as we begin near historic Findlay Market. This urban hike takes us through hidden alleys, neighborhood steps, and picturesque streets.

Terrain: Mostly pavement, short to medium staircases, and some uneven alley surfaces
Post-Hike Spot: Northern Row Brewery, W. McMicken

Hike #2: Prospect Hill and Pendleton District
Date: Sunday, February 23rd
Time: 3:00 – 5:00 PM

Ascend 150+ iconic City Steps on Reading Road to reach Jackson Hill Park, with views of Prospect Hill. Then, descend into the vibrant Pendleton District for a closer look at its historic streets.

Terrain: Long staircases, uneven surfaces, mostly paved
Post-Hike Spot: Refreshments in Pendleton District (location TBD)

Hike #3: California Woods Nature Preserve
Date: Sunday, April 6th
Time: 3:00 – 5:00 PM

Explore the lush trails of California Woods Nature Preserve, one of Cincinnati’s hidden natural treasures. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings of this wooded retreat.

Terrain: Dirt trails, uneven surfaces, steps, and some elevation
Post-Hike Spot: Refreshments nearby (location TBD)

Hike #4: Fernald Preserve
Date: Sunday, May 11th
Time: 3:00 – 5:00 PM

Witness the transformation of a former nuclear processing facility into a thriving nature preserve. Hike the trails while learning about this incredible environmental recovery project.

Terrain: Combination of paved and unpaved trails
Post-Hike Spot: After-party in Hamilton, OH (location TBD)

Join us for as many hikes as you can! While we encourage you to participate in the full series to enjoy the variety of experiences and deepen relationships with other congregants, it’s perfectly fine if you can’t make it to every single one.
