1919: The Year That Changed Baseball Walking Tour

April means the beginning of spring, and with it, the beginning of a new baseball season!  Did you know that Cincinnati has played a vital role in the development of professional baseball in America?  From being the birthplace to the first professional team, the location of the merger of the National and American Leagues and where the World Series was created, Cincinnati’s place in the history of Major League Baseball is extraordinary.

Join us on a private walking tour led by American Legacy Tours across downtown Cincinnati celebrating the city’s central role in shaping the game of baseball.  The tour will focus on events surrounding the controversial 1919 World Series between the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago White Sox (also known as the Black Sox Scandal).

The 90-minute tour meets at the Cincinnati USA Visitor Center in Fountain Square and includes approximately 3/4 of a mile of walking on mostly flat terrain.  Please note that tour content includes discussion of alcohol consumption and gambling. Cost: $15 for temple members; $29 for non-members.
